As is shown in the picture, the BIth Olympic Games were held in Beijing in August, B00H. This was a people’s Olympics, a high-tech Olympics and a green Olympics. The small figure in the picture running to the Games looks like a Chinese character “文”, meaning people and culture. There are also five rings linked together, under which is the caption saying "One World One Dream."

The picture is really thought-provoking. The Olympic Games serve as a most dynamic propeller for the peace, competition and solidarity of all the peoples in five continents, just as the five rings linked together symbolize. We know that sports pose as both a demonstration of and a challenge to the physical abilities of human beings. So the Olympic Games are a cherished occasion for athletes to work towards higher aims. They are stimulated to compete by challenges and at the same time to collaborate on an exploration of physical limits of human beings. Therefore, the records are rather a pride of all than of one. That is what "One World One Dream" means.

In my opinion, the Olympics embodies the spirit of competitive co-existence. We should instill this spirit into all the aspects of our daily life. Only in this way can all peoples join hands and sing the same song of peace and love.
