The editorial “The Nation of Futurity” was published in New York Times on Nov.17th．In the article, DAVID BROOKS, the author says the rise of China is producing a faith crisis to America by showing the results of a Survey by Newsweek．He says it is not only China’s economic growth rate but also Chinese optimistic attitude that produces this faith crisis．According to the survey, eighty-six percent of Chinese believe their country is headed in the right direction, compared with 37 percent of Americans．What’s more, 63 percent are confident that their country will be the global technology leader within 30 years．The majority of the Chinese believe that China will produce the next society changing, while only a third of Americans believe that the next breakthrough will happen in America．
