温暖的小刀

  那年春末,我到一所中学去监考。

  发卷的时候,我发现,靠近讲台的一个女生怪怪的,左手藏在袖口里,遮遮掩掩的,不愿伸出来。和我一起监考的,是另一所学校的一位女老师。大约她也注意到了这个细节。随后,我俩便开始留意这个女生。在我们想来,她袖口里的那只不愿示人的手里,一定藏着什么秘密。

  考场里静悄悄的,学生们都在全神贯注地答题。只有这个女生,一边答题,一边有意紧藏着她的那只手,一边还不自觉地环顾着左右,神色紧张而怪异。这愈加坚定了我们的怀疑:她的手里一定攥着小抄或者其他用来作弊的什么东西。

  然而,我们错了。半小时后,也许女生做题做得太过专注,一不小心,她露出了自己的左手——天哪,这个女生的左手居然没有手指头。

  原来。她竟是一个有残疾的学生!

  这多少有些出乎我们的意料,愧怍之余,不禁心生悲悯。那位女老师更是一脸的痛楚,小声地嘟囔着:“怎么会是这样,多可怜的孩子啊,多可怜的孩子。”

  考试进行到一半的时候,有一道地理题需要改动。办公室送来了一沓纸片,纸片上,印着一个阿拉伯国家的地形图。我们分发给学生们,然后让他们各自粘贴在试卷的答卷纸上。由于是临时赶印出来的,太过匆忙,这些纸片裁剪得很粗糙,考生们只有自己动手把四个毛边撕去,使大小合适,才能贴在试卷上。

  这下,可难为了这个女生。大约,她还是不愿让别人看到她的那只手,就用左胳膊使劲压紧纸片,右手一点一点地撕。然而,那张小纸片仿佛不听话似的,只要她一用力,就从她的胳膊下跑出来,再压下去,再跑出来。她急得都有些冒汗了。

  “这位女同学,我可以帮你吗?”女老师走过去,俯下身子,声音低低地征询女生的意见。女生抬起头。看了看,迟疑了一下,还是把纸片给了她。

  然而,女老师并没有立即动手,她把那张纸片放在讲台上后便在满考场里寻找着什么。我有些纳闷,这不是很简单的一件事吗?她究竟想要干什么呢?

  不一会儿,女老师从一个学生那里,找到了一把小刀。然后,她坐在讲台前,一点一点小心翼翼地裁剪那张纸片。“哧——哧——“小刀割裂纸片的声音,很好听,我和女生看着她做这一切。说实话,①那一刻,女老师慈祥得像坐在讲台前的一尊佛,她专注的神情,仿佛是在完成一件精致的手工艺品

  随后,她微笑着把这张小纸片轻轻地放在女生的桌子上。女生欠了欠身子,低低地说了声谢谢。她拍了拍女生的肩膀,说,赶紧答题吧,便走开了。

  然而,我还在纳闷着。一张小纸片,手也完全可以撕得很整齐,为什么一定要找把小刀来呢?

  考试结束后,我道出了心中的不解。那位女老师笑了,她说:“这个女生所残缺的,是一只手。我不想在她面前,用自己灵巧的手指头去撕那张纸片,那样的话,会撕碎这个女孩的心。我满考场去寻找一把小刀,就是想借助小刀,避开对她的这种伤害。”
