“娃娃博士”谱写核弹新篇章

  蜚声中外的邓稼先是我国功高盖世的核弹元勋。他二十多岁就在美国获得物理学博士的桂冠,因而被他老师爱称为“娃娃博士”。

  从“娃娃博士”到“核弹元勋”,邓稼先走过的路闪耀着理想的光辉,智慧的火花,更展示出惊人的开拓进取精神!

  1959年6月,邓稼先被委任为我国第一颗核弹研制工程的理论设计负责人。理论设计是研制核弹的第一大关。邓稼先一无现成的资料,二无先进的设备,三无点滴经验。他怀着一颗忠于祖国、献身科学的赤子之心,带领一批年轻的科学家用古老的算盘、简陋的计算尺和手摇计算机,日夜三班轮换,千万次地重复着单调、机械的动作。计算的工作量是常人难以想象的:计算、验算、校对、修正……一次、两次……花了近三百个日日夜夜,直到与其他科学家从另一个角度对数核查吻合无误,研制核弹的第一个难关才被攻克。

  邓稼先不仅在科研院所里费尽心血,还经常亲自到飞沙走石的戈壁试验场。1964年10月,中国成功爆炸第一颗原子弹,他率领研究人员在试验后迅速进入爆炸现场采样。接着又投入了对氢弹的研究,并于原子弹爆炸后的两年8个月试验成功,同美国用7年、苏联用4年、法国用8年的时间相比,创造了世界上最快的速度。
