邓亚萍求学的悬梁岁月

  1996年亚特兰大奥运会结束后,邓亚萍以英语专业本科生的身份初进清华时,英文几乎是一张白纸。

  “怀着兴奋又忐忑的心情迈进清华大学。老师想看看我的水平——你写出26个英文字母看看。我费了一阵心思总算写了出来,看着一会儿大写,一会儿小写的字母,我有些不好意思——老师,就这个样子了,但请放心,我一定努力!”

  “上英语课时老师的讲述对我而言无异于天书,我只能尽力一字不漏地听着、记着,回到宿舍,再一点点翻字典,一点点硬啃硬记。我给自己制订了学习计划:一切从零开始,坚持三个第一①——从课本第一页学起;从第一个字母、第一个单词背起;一天必须保证14个小时的学习时间,每天5点准时起床,读音标、背单词、练听力,直到正式上课;晚上整理讲义,温习功课,直到12点。”

  由于全身心地投入学习,邓亚萍几乎完全取消了与朋友的聚会及无关紧要的社会活动,就连给父母打电话的次数也大大减少。为了提高自己的听力和会话能力,她除了定期光顾语音室,还买来多功能复读机。由于总是一边听磁带,一边跟着读,同学们常跟她开玩笑:“亚萍,你成天读个不停,当心嘴唇磨出茧子呀!”“但我相信:没有超人的付出,就不会有超人的成绩。这也是我多年闯荡赛场的切身体验。”

  学习是紧张的,每天的课程都排得满满的。除学习之外,邓亚萍每周还要三次往返几十里路到国家队训练基地训练,疲劳程度可想而知。

  “每天清晨起床时,我都会发现枕头上有许多头发,梳头的时候也会有不少头发脱落下来。对此我并不太在意,倒是教练和队友见到我十分惊讶:‘小邓,你怎么了?’我说:‘没什么,可能是学习的用脑和打球的用脑不一样吧。’”
