play tennis when she was seven. In 1996, Li Ting went to the USA and studied in a tennis school for six

months. In 1997, she joined the national tennis team. In 2004, Li Ting took part in the Athens Olympic

Games and won a gold medal with her teammate Sun Tiantian in the women's tennis doubles. This is

China's first gold medal in tennis at the Olympics.
