浮选对入选物料的粒度通常有两个要求,首先要求目的矿物单体解离,其次要求目的矿物的入选粒度要适宜。矿粒太粗,即使矿物已单体解离,因超过气泡的浮载能力,往往浮不起来。各类矿物的浮选粒度上限不同,如硫化物一般为0.2-0.25mm,非硫化矿为0.25-0.3mm。对于一些比重较小的非金属矿如煤等,粒度上限还可以提高。但是矿物磨得过细,如小于0.01mm也浮不好。主要表现在:⑴耗药量大;⑵降低浮选速度;⑶污染泡沫产品,精矿品位低;⑷恶化粗粒浮选,增大金属流失。
