Recently our class had a discussion about whether the high-speed railway should be built in Changchun.
The results are as follows.
About seventy percent students insist that the high-speed railway be built because it can ease the already
severe traffic jams in our city. In addition, with the high-speed railway, many other vehicles are spared,
which contributes to the environment. Last but not least, it's really a great convenience for people to travel
here and there.
The rest are against the idea, believing it's nothing but a waste of time and money. What's more, compared
with such huge cost, the profit is rather insignificant.
In my opinion, the high-speed railway is much more than a simple means of transport. It's a sign of the
development of science and technology and people's concept. So I am strongly for the idea.
