Being a Successful Learner

Study is very important for every individual because we have to acquire new and advanced knowledge to keep pace with the rapid development of science and technology. The fierce competition pushes every one of us to seize every opportunity to study. And as the future generation of China, we should equip ourselves with rich knowledge to make our country stronger and more powerful.

What makes successful learners? Successful learners are similar in many ways. They are independent thinkers and take an active and positive attitude towards their study. Besides, they have clear objectives in mind. They know themselves well and have the competence of applying what they have learnt to practice.

How can we be successful learners? In my opinion, first of all, we should develop our interest in study, as the saying goes, “Interest is the best teacher.” Second, we should form the habit of making plans for our study and keeping a good balance between study and entertainment. Last but not least, remember not to depend on our teachers or textbooks only.

从题目的要求我们可知文章应该分三段，分别是学习的重要性、成功的学习者的共性和你的看法，前面两段要结合要点陈述，也可以适当增减，第三段是开放式的，要求写出观点和理由，要让人信服。写作时，要有意识的用一些重要的短语：keep pace with、seize every opportunity、equip ourselves with 、take an active and positive attitude towards 、develop our interest in 、keeping a good balance between，另外句型也很重要，如范文里的：as the saying goes, “Interest is the best teacher.” They know themselves well and have the competence of applying what they have learnt to practice.这里就有what引导的宾语从句。还要注意文章的连贯，特别是最后一段：用了first of all, Second, ， Last but not least, 使得文章一气呵成。
