Possible version:
There is no doubt that everybody makes promises all his life. But just as the proverb goes, "promise is
debt". Once you have made a promise, you must keep it; otherwise, you won't be worthy of good faith.
What's worse, you will lose your friends and even fame.
Take myself for example. One day when playing with my good friend Xiao Ming, I saw a beautiful bird
flying in the sky. Liking it so much, I asked Xiao Ming to draw it for me and I would give him my doll in
return. But after he finished the drawing, I broke my word and refused to give him the doll because I liked
it so much too. Since then, I have lost my good friend.
Therefore, I think what is said can never be what is unsaid. It is necessary and important to for you to
think it twice before making a promise. Once you have made it, no matter what happens to you, you
should keep to it. Only in this way can you be reliable, which will help you make a friend indeed and
establish a good fame.
