     To be effective, advertising must be exciting, entertaining, or provide some pleasure.The secret of

writing good advertising copy is to offer a good idea as well as a product.The idea is what the ad is really

selling.One example is an ad that says eating a cereal will make a person do well in sports.That cereal

brand may sell better if consumers think it offers strength and energy.

     Advertising has not only advantages but also disadvantages.Today's advertisements contain so many

persuasive words that many consumers are persuaded to buy some products, including something that

they don't really need.

     Advertising occupies almost every aspect of our lives.It has lots of advantages.Firstly, advertising can

provide us with uptodate information about the latest products.Secondly, consumers can have a best price by comparing the prices and specifications of the commodity advertised by different suppliers.

     In order to make more profit, some manufacturers produce false advertisements.These advertisements may say that it is worth the money to buy their products and may boast about their quality.But when the

consumers buy the products, they will eventually find that they are cheated, causing great loss in the

property.

     I strongly oppose false advertisements.I propose that all manufacturers be honest in whatever they do

and say.I also suggest that some laws be passed to regulate the making of advertisements.
