Recently our class has held a heated discussion about whether it’s good for teenagers to surf the Internet through mobile phones. Opinions are divided on this matter.
About 60% of the students support it. They think by surfing the Internet through mobile phones, they can know about the latest information anytime and anywhere they like, which will broaden their views. Moreover, it’s convenient for them to keep in touch with their parents and friends. At the same time, it provides many functions, thus making them relaxed.
However, about 40% of the students hold the opposite opinion, arguing that it’s a waste of time and money to play games and chat online through mobile phones. Worse still, There is a lot of harmful information online, which surely has a bad influence on teenagers. Being addicted to online games does great harm to their life as well as their studies.
In my opinion, teenagers can surf the Internet through mobile phones on condition that they can make good use of it. Besides, our government should take measures to ensure a safer online environment for teenagers.
