     Forgetting little things happens every day, but it can lead to a bigger problem, someday. To improve your
memory, both mental (脑力的) and physical exercise are necessary. Physical exercise can help to supply
enough oxygen (氧气) to your brain, and mental exercise ensures (确保) that your mind can be active all the
time. An important activity is deep breathing. Try out some deep breathing relaxation techniques which relax
the mind. Repetition of a particular activity also helps to improve memory.
     You must also get the right amount of sleep (6-8 hours) every day. Remember, sleeping too much can have
the same bad effect on your memory. The most important thing to remember well is to get just enough sleep,
which affects not only your brain functions, but also your energy levels throughout the day.
     Getting things organized in and around your house or your office is one of the best ways to improve
memory. The same goes for those who are studying. Write down your study materials well, and it will be
easier to study and remember all the materials when you're preparing for a project or a test.
     Eat healthy food, including some food known as brain food, which includes nuts, fish, milk, eggs, whole
grains, etc. All these foods, eaten in a healthy way, will help your brain function well, improve your memory
and make you sharper. Avoid deep-fried, heavily salted or heavily sugary food. Also, never drink alcohol or
give up drinking if you do want to improve your concentration and memory.
     With these tips, you can improve your memory.

苹果里的星星

       一个人的错误,有可能侥幸地成为另一个人的发现。     

       儿子走上前来,向我报告幼儿园里的新闻,说他又学会了新东西,想在我面前显示显示。他打开抽屉,拿出一把还不该他用的小刀,又从冰箱里取出一个苹果,(a)地说:“爸爸,我要让你看看里头藏着什么。”     

      “我知道苹果里面是什么。”我说。     

      “来,还是让我切给您看吧。”他说着把苹果一切两半——切错了。我们都知道,正确的切法应该是从茎部切到底窝凹( āo)处。而他呢,却是把苹果横放着,拦腰切下去。然后,他把切好的苹果伸到我面前,(b)地说:“爸爸,看,里面有颗星星呢。”
