阅读《读“死”书与读“活”书》,完成问题。

读“死”书与读“活”书

  读“死”书好?还是读“活”书好?看起来,自然是读“活”书好。读‘“活”书,可以联系实际,可以活学活用,可以打开思路,可以进行创造……一些举一反三的例子,一些科学上的创造发明,莫不是来自读“活”书,以及善于“活”读书。

  但是,天下任何事情,都要看时问、地点和条件而定。我们现在谈的是中学生的读书。中学生刚刚开始人生的路,他们刚刚学会自己读书,需要的是牢固可靠的基础知识,首先要把书读懂,这样掌握的知识是可靠的,准确无误的,就可以终生受用。因此,对于中学生来说,我看与其鼓励他们现在读“活”书,不如老老实实地劝他们读“死”书,或者是先读“死”书,后读“活”书。

  所谓读“死”书,是说要认真地照着书本去读,先求准,后求懂,然后再求用。书上怎样讲的,一个字一个字地认清楚,然后照着去理解。由于书是文字构成的,中国的文字包括形、音、义三个方面。读“死”书,就是要抓住书中的形、音、义,把形认准,把音读准,把义理解准,然后准确无误地把书中的话记准、背准、用准。我主张中学生读“死”书,就是鼓励他们要在书内用工夫。要把书读进去,真正读懂,而不是不求甚解,或者不懂装懂。

  我这样讲,是从我个人的切身感受出发的。首先,我有感于“ * * ”时的“假、大、空”,给我们的学风和文风所造成的危害。其次,我总结了过去的失误,年轻时,我读书,喜欢从兴趣出发,强调读“活”书。结果许多基本知识都还没有搞通,就自以为是,夸夸其谈,以至什么都没有真正学到。年纪大了,回首往事,不胜懊恼。所以,读书先要读“死”书,有了读“死”书的基础,然后再读“活”书为佳。

  古人说:尽信书,不如无书。读书的终极目的,是要把“死”书读活,让书发挥作用.“死"活”之间,相互为用,相互补充。我们强调读“死”书,但又不拘泥于读“死”书。“死”与“活”,都是对人而言的。人要书“死”,书就“死”;人要书“活”,书就“活”。这就叫“运用之妙,存乎一心”。善读书者,手中都有一把打开书籍奥秘的金钥匙。书籍是死的,金钥匙却是活的。“死”与“活”的关系,大概有如书籍与金钥匙的关系,我们先要有书籍,然后金钥匙才能发挥作用。只有漂亮的金钥匙,又有什么用处?因此,谈读书,就得先读书。
