It looks like a mobile phone(手机), but the service is much cheaper. It acts like a mobile phone, but only in your own city. Beyond the city walls, it’s useless.

“Little Smart”, also called “xiaolingtong”, has always been compared to mobile phones. But actually, it is more like one of those cordless phones(无绳电话) used around the home. The only difference is that this one reaches much further than from the bathroom to the living room. It can travel across an entire city.

Cheap costs are the main reason for the success of Little Smart. It costs 25 yuan a month for the line and about 0.1 yuan per minute to use. A mobile phone, on the other hand, can cost four or five times as much. What’s more, unlike mobile phones, there’s no fee(费) for incoming calls. So these low charges have attracted many users.

But, Little Smart is not really that smart. Users often complain about its bad voice quality. And there are not as many stations to pick up its signals(信号)as there are for mobiles. “I couldn’t receive a phone call if I was on a bus,” said Li Ping, a user in Hangzhou. “It worked fine when I stood still, but there were breaks in signal when I was moving.”

Scientists are trying to make Little Smart more user friendly. Messaging and Internet access(接入) have been added to the service. And the latest Little Smart handset even has color screen.

TCL独创的物流切换秘密一台TCL的王牌彩电从生产线下来以后,在抵达最终卖场之前,往往要旅行大半个中国,在好几个仓库间倒腾,经过许许多多人的手。如何在产品物流的配送得到保障的前提下,同时提高运作效率,成为TCL最头痛的问题之一。因为彩电行业的利润率甚至不及4%,而物流开支是仅次于原材料费用的巨大负担,必须从物流成本中压榨利润。要避免重复运输,减少中间环节,减少彩电的旅行时间及成本,需要的是建立一个反应迅速、经济实用、触角遍布各地的物流网络。TCL集团曾经计划投入5亿元人民币,把它覆盖全国的近2万多家家电销售网点,改造成网络化的专业物流配送系统。按计划,先通过系统配送TCL的产品,以后再送各个厂家的各种产品,最终建成一个连接互联网和传统商业的社会公用平台。事实上,以网络著称的TCL拥有目前国内最具分销能力的家电销售网络。

其自建的销售渠道作为TCL彩电销售的主力军,销量占到了总体的80%以上。据了解,TCL目前在全国有27个销售分公司,近200个经营部,7000名销售人员,17000家经销商,这无疑是一笔极大的财富。3万人构建的网络可谓一呼百应。TCL的相关人士坦言,一旦价格战军情紧急,通过周密发达运转灵便的网络,只需2-3天,TCL便可完成布货。这也使得TCL有可能通过改造其庞大的销售网络,使之承担起物流体系的功能。然而,使一个诺大的网络有效运作起来绝不是件简单的事情,在各环节必然耗费大量的资源,这其中自然也包括流通环节的物流成本。在压力与日俱增的市场环境下,渠道扁平化似乎也就成为了不可阻挡的趋势。对于TCL而言,传统的物流管理分散于不同的部门,根据职能划分,采取的是分段式管理。因此,物流革新势在必行:回顾TCL的物流发展历程,可谓经历了一番尝试和比较。TCL拥有在彩电业内最为庞大的销售网络,有200多个机构分布在全国主要城市。这既是TCL最大的竞争优势,却也成为TCL最大的负担之一,因为如何对这些机构进行有效的物流管理和财务监控确实比较成问题,对市场的反应一直较慢。从1998年开始,TCL开始对企业销售网络的物流体系进行改造。通过引入一套比较完整的ERP系统,对货物的进、销、存系统一体化管理。然而在实际的操作中,由于各级管理人员的水平和原有管理信息系统的局限性,这个ERP系统却得不到有效运转。于是TCL只能先上物流管理系统,即进、销、存管理系统,再上财务系统。这样一来,也能够熬到对销售网络以及整个销售动态和市场动态做出实时的反应。虽然这个系统并不能做到严格意义上的实时更新,但是至少每天10点以前,公司就能对前一天全国市场的销售情况、库存情况、主要竞争对手的销售情况、财务情况有个全面的了解,从而使得决策层对整个市场的情况能够做出相对实时而准确的判断,而资金流转的速度也比同行大概快2~4倍。正是由于货物的流向实现了信息化管理,在物流供求的两端就只剩下相对简单的运输问题,这也使得TCL有可能将这一切委托给第三方物流公司办理。TCL与南方物流的合作一直令人满意。虽然发运点成倍增加,发运量数急剧增长,但TCL物流的人员数量保持不变,而且其运价创历史新低,为TCL节约了大量的物流成本和费用。在目前的家电行业中,只有TCL和海尔建立了全国性的直接配送到门店的物流体系。在TCL"以速度打击规模"的信条下,甚至在某些区域保证了先销售后进货的物流水平。速度已经成为TCL物流模式的最大特点和优势所在。请回答下列问题:
