     This is Peter.  He is an Australian boy. He's going to show the Browns around London tomorrow.

     London is his favorite city. He lives there and works there. He knows London very well and he likes it very much.

                                                            风雪中的一课  

  ①那天的风雪真暴,外面像是有无数发疯的怪兽在呼啸厮打。大家都在喊冷,读书的心思似乎被冻住了。一屋的跺脚声。

  ②鼻头红红的欧阳老师这时走进教室。

  ③“请同学们穿上胶鞋,我们到操场上去。”

  ④“我要求同学们到操场上站立五分钟。”

  ⑤教室外,卷地而起的雪粒、雪团呛得人睁不开眼,张不开口。脸上像有无数把细窄的刀在拉在划,厚实的衣服像铁块、冰块,脚像是踩在带冰碴的水里。我们挤在屋檐下,不肯迈向操场半步。欧阳老师没有说什么,面对我们,脱下羽绒衣,绒衣脱到一半,夹着雪的狂风帮他完成了另一半。“到操场上去。站好。”老师脸色苍白,一字一顿地对我们说。

  ⑥谁也没有吭声,我们老老实实地到操场排好了队。我们规规矩矩地站着。五分钟过去了,老师费力地说:“解散。”

  ⑦就在我还未能透彻地理解欧阳老师的这一课时,仅有“中师”文凭的他,考取了北京一所师范大学的研究生。

  ⑧以后的岁月里,我时时想起那一课,想起欧阳老师课后的一番话:“在教室时,我们都以为自己敌不过那场风雪,事实上,我们不是都顶住了吗?面对困难,许多人戴着放大镜,但和困难拼搏一番后,你会觉得,困难不过如此……”
