  ②怎样让笨重的自行车既“减肥”又结实呢?研究人员进行多次的研究试验,终于设计出了碳纤维的网状车架。这种网状车架由碳纤维编织而成,并用高分子复合纤维制成的凯夫拉绳进行捆绑。利用这种碳纤维网状车架,研究人员制造出了只2.5千克重的轻便的网架自行车。

  ③研究人员所用的碳纤维是把普通的碳纤维涂上一种特殊的树脂,在124°C下烧制4小时而成的。工艺不复杂,但它在强度上要胜过钢、铝和钛,甚至比致密的碳合成物还坚固,它在试验中甚至可以抵挡榴弹弹片的冲击。用这种碳纤维生产出来的网架十分结实,这种网架不但可以用来制造自行车,还可以用来代替其他杆状物,如电线杆、电信高塔。

  ④网架自行车在运动过程中出现意外碰撞时,能抵挡中等强度的碰撞而不会变形。在撞击的过程中,即使有部分网格被撞坏了,整个网架照样结实好用,而且可以对损坏的网格进行修补。研究人员表示,车架的网状结构可以让碰撞的损伤局限在单个网格中,车架也不会在冲击压力下导致散架。

  ⑤目前,网架自行车还没有批量生产,因为,该车的车架成本高达6995美元,整车则要11995美元。研究人员希望能改进技术,降低成本,将来人们就可以轻松地拎着它乘坐地铁和公交车了。
