     London won the right to host the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. The British capital will become the
first city to host the Olympics three times.
     London is one of the world's greatest cities. There are many interesting places in London, like the
Buckingham Palace (汉宫) and the House of Parliament (议会大厦).
     In history, people came to this place from every part of the world to live or to visit. Today the city
brings together more than 50 ethnic (种族) groups of people and over 300 different languages are spoken.
London is a modern and international city. Every year the city welcomes more than 11 million visitors.
     Sport has a long and rich history in London.  Sport in the city can mean many things, from the very
important World Cup to playing footballin a park. That's because sport is not only something that they
watch but also something that they do.
